0.2.x


Version 0.2.x has been released! Here are the most important changes:

  • Added character stories and h scenes for Torne and Viola. (Lost? Here's a spoiler-free walkthrough: https://pastebin.com/1EPyDWw6)
  • Removed game overs. Now, if the hero dies, he goes back to town without his items/gold, but keeps his character stories progress.
  • Removed Paila's bad endings (dead/abandoned). Now, if Paila dies/gets abandoned (or the hero dies while escorting her), she will reappear in the dungeon on a later date.
  • Add some UI/UX/QoL improvements, e.g. resolution/fullscreen settings, save slots, a datetime/location widget in the sidebar, hotkeys for throw (item) and spin attack.
  • Added sound effects.
  • Added portraits for Pila and Chii.

For 0.3.x, I plan to:

  • Improve the roguelike gameplay (which didn't get much attention in 0.2.x).
  • Add a character story and h scene for The Demon Lord.
  • Add illustrations for some non-h scenes.

Re: save/load across versions:

  • I apologize, but 0.2.x can't load 0.1.x saves.
  • At the moment, the core code and data models often get refactored / are in an unstable state, so I can't guarantee that save/load will work across minor versions (e.g. 0.2.x -> 0.3.x).
  • I should be able to support save/load across patch versions (e.g. 0.2.1 -> 0.2.2) most of the time.
  • Until the core code / data models becomes more stable, I plan to make most new character stories accessible from the start of the game so you can enjoy the new content immediately.
